Hi Ralph,

I have a question for the group.

What is the policy that various groups have on wearing earbuds / headphones in a Lab / chemical plant environment? I seem to recall that this was a topic of discussion in the past.

We operate bench, pilot, and demonstration scale chemical plants at this site. We also have a number of analytical labs. Our evacuation procedures start with an audible alarm or page to evacuate / define the emergency.

We have thought about allowing single earbuds only but are not sure if even this is acceptable. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe
