Greetings,

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Chemical Inventory Specialist.

The position supports the Laboratory Safety Program within the Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Department. EH&S maintains a comprehensive chemical inventory database by collecting inventory data as packages are delivered to campus, and by inventorying campus laboratories and other spaces where chemicals are stored. The resulting chemical inventory data is needed to comply with various regulations and permits, and is used to enhance many safety and incident response functions.

The position supervises and trains inventory team members, and schedules and coordinates daily activities of the inventory team. The position also performs duties as needed to ensure service and departmental objectives are fulfilled. The position interacts directly with faculty, laboratory staff and students to inform them of EH&S inventory activities in their areas while addressing any possible concerns. The position contributes to identifying and implementing process efficiencies and improvements, and contributes to the future direction of the inventory program.
