Why do we all have to all be faced with the question in the first place? Look at any item in your home purchased at a grocery store, clothing retailer, home goods store, etc. Bar codes on all of them. Makes inventory and checkout easy. But suggest to the chemical industry how much easier they'd make things by doing the same as retailers??? IR tags, QR code, UPC whatever. They'd need to update their label and we'd be set. OSHA making it a reg requirement might be needed to force a standard approach but you'd think they could do it if they simply wanted to.
