Subject: ACS National Awards Call for Nominations: Deadline Extended

The following message is being sent on behalf of Valerie J. Kuck, Chair, ACS Board Committee on Grants and Awards

Dear ACS Division Officers:

The nomination deadline for the 2015 ACS National Awards has been extended to Friday, November 15, 2013, due to the partial federal government shutdown. As of today, there are 13 awards that have less than 5 nominees, which make these awards ineligible to be presented in 2015. Therefore, I encourage you nominate deserving individuals for these awards.

• ACS Award for Creative Research and Applications of Iodine Chemistry
• ACS Award for Team Innovation
• ACS Award in Chromatography
• ACS Award in Industrial Chemistry
• ACS Award in Pure Chemistry
• Ahmed Zewail Award in Ultrafast Science and Technology
• Award for Volunteer Service to the American Chemical Society
• Earle B. Barnes Award for Leadership in Chemical Research Management
• Elias J Corey Award for Outstanding Original Contribution in Organic Synthesis by Young Investigator
• Frank H. Field and Joe L. Franklin Award for Outstanding Achievement in Mass Spectrometry
• George and Christine Sosnovsky Award for Cancer Research
• Glenn T. Seaborg Award for Nuclear Chemistry
• Nobel Laureate Signature Award for Graduate Education in Chemistry

In particular, please make a special effort to identify and nominate women, minorities, chemists from industry and the national laboratories who are doing outstanding research and have made significant technical advances.

Nomination and supporting information as well as a detailed description of ACS National Awards are available online at www.acs.org/nationalawards. Please submit nominations towww.nominate.acs.org. If you have any questions or concerns, I can be reached at vjkuck**At_Symbol_Here**gmail.com or you may contact Ms. Felicia Dixon, Manger, ACS National Awards Office atf_dixon**At_Symbol_Here**acs.org.
