Subject: Re: Science Education & Safety

Brad,  Very well stated.  I'm a retired chem prof who preda tes OSHA.  Luckily I learned chemical safety at duPont before taking the vows of poverty to become a chem prof at UWEC in 1964.  Removing all "unsa fe" chemicals from teaching labs would render lab courses unrealistic.  With proper instruction and supervision, even dangerous chemical compounds have a place in the education of undergrads.  Al Denio
