Neal,

To draw an azido group with MarvinSketch use the Insert Menu, select Groups
, scroll down to the N folder and double-click to open. Select N3 and clic
k Close. Now you can insert an N3 group by clicking on your molecule. To
expand the azide group in your molecule, select the N3 then right click and
 select Ungroup.

ChemSketch from www.ACDLabs.com has a lot of equipment templates but no man
ifold template. ChemSketch is for Windows only and it's free for individua
l and non-commercial use.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Drawing Software

Two questions:

I use MarvinSketch to draw chemical structures - does anyone know how to
generate the azide (N3) moity, so I can draw a poly azido hydrocarbon struc
ture?

Second, I need an easy to use drawing program to illustrate a lab equipment
set-up. It will contain a gas manifold, a single neck round bottom, a bot
tle or two and some other simple equipment.
I would prefer an Add-In for Visio, but cannot locate one

Thanks

nl
