A chemical explosion at Bradley University's Olin Hall, 827 Elmwood, left
no injuries Tuesday.

Police and firefighters responding to a fire alarm in the building found a
cloud of white dust in the lab. The explosion caused a form of ether to
dissipate around the room.

Officials cleared the building, ventilated and secured the area. A
hazardous materials contamination area was set in place inside the lab.

The lab was locked down until it could be decontaminated and the building
was reopened. Two students were in the lab at the time of the explosion
but no injuries were reported.
