The University of Arkansas Facilities Management Department is now accepting applications for an Occupational Safety Coordinator. Duties include but not limited to:  Support and maintain a comprehensive campus safety program. This position will assist the Campus Safety Officer in the development of accident prevention strategies and root cause analysis; perform job safety analysis and hazard assessments; and support health and safety education training programs and keep abreast of current trends through professional publications. The Occupational Safety Coordinator will manage, maintain and use safety monitoring equipment and instrumentation. This position will assist with chemical exposure and In-door Air Quality assessments. Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in physics, chemistry, biology, or a related field; plus two years of experience in occupational health and safety or a related field.  Valid drivers License.

Preferred Qualifications:  At least three years of experience administering institutional occupational safety regulations and providing safety program oversight; At least three years of experience developing safety programs as outlined in OSHA regulations (e.g., Confined Space, Fall Protection, Hazard Communication); At least two years of experience conducting tests and assessing hazards to help prevent harm to workers, property, the environment, and the general public; At least two years of experience developing accident prevention strategies and performing root cause analyses .

Working hours are Monday Thru Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm.  Starting salary is $42,386.
