Thanks, Neal. There's a second round of symposium proposals after the turn of the year. Likewise - I would be pleased to present, if asked, but can't take the lead on organizing a session.

-----Original Message----- Joe Sabol organized this session. He invited me to present, which I tentatively accepted. I plan to address best safety practices for small - medium companies. nl Are there plans to put together a safety symposium, too? Or is this the only one that has (nominal) overlap with safety? We are specially interested in safety practices for small to medium size companies and commercial labs. Neal ------------------------------------------------------------ --- --- --- ---

I do not know if a safety session was proposed nor if new sessions are still being accepted. In any case, I am unwilling to take the lead in such an endeavor out of personal concern for not being able to follow through.

The following symposium will be presented at the 2020 PacificChem conference. As stated below, we need more contributors from the western Pacific.
Technical competence remains the core for students studying chemistry, science, and engineering, but an increasing fraction of graduates will find employment in sectors other than traditional academia and large focused industry.
Interdisciplinary, innovative, and nimble small entities are taking a larger share of the market and successful entrepreneurs leverage their skill-set to overcome the market barriers that exist with large and established competitors. This session will hold toolkit and best practices so as to provide students and chemical professionals with perspectives for building success into the future. Beyond technical skills, this symposium will focus on international issues !
regarding business collaboration, intellectual property, finance, safety, design, cultural norms, and communication.
