There is the databse from the German institute for occupational safety and health (also in English): http://gestis-en.itrust.de
It is quite comprehensive and is used (along other resources) by meds and toxicological centers around Germany and Switzerland.

We tell the chemistry students to read at least the SDS plus the Gestis entry.
