I supply them to people working in production areas that are handling powders. They work reasonably well for powders, especially when using the strap, but I would not recommend them for protection against liquids.
The cons: they don't work well with respirators and some models significantly reduce visibility.
Engineering controls such as improved dust collection are the preferred option to PPE where possible.
