Back in May, Drs. Dorhout and Gilbert were asked to provide a statement regarding their respective position to make the American Chemical Society the recognized leader for chemical safety in education and research.  The request was made in accordance with the Society’s rules for elections.

Their statements were published in the July/August 2016 issue of JCHAS.  The link to their statements is here:  http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1871553216300330

The DOI for their statements is:  http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.jchas.2016.05.003

If you are unable to view their statements, contact me OFF LIST and I will send you a copy.
