Public Meetings to Obtain Input on Risk Evaluation and Chemical Prioritization Processes under the Amended Toxic Substances Control Act

On August 9-10, EPA will hold public meetings to obtain input on the processes that will be used to prioritize and evaluate chemicals under the Toxic Substances Control Act as amended by the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act. The input obtained during these meetings will be considered as the EPA develops its proposed procedural regulations for risk evaluation and chemical prioritization.

The public meeting on August 9, 2016 will inform EPA's proposed rule on conducting risk evaluations to determine whether a chemical presents an unreasonable risk of injury to health or the environment. The meeting on August 10, 2016 will inform EPA's proposed rule to establish a risk-based process for chemical prioritization.

The public meetings will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, and will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, Horizon Ballroom, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington D.C. Signs will be posted at the building entrances directing people to the Horizon Ballroom.

EPA requests that people planning to participate, either in person or remotely, register in advance. Registered participants will receive information on how to connect remotely to the meetings. The registration site also provides an option for participants to indicate if they wish to make comments at this meeting.
