Dear fellow CHAS Members,

This free workshop may be of interest to anyone interested in laboratory security. https://www.wright.edu/events/fbi-biosecurity-workshop

FBI Cincinnati (CI) Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Program, FBIHQ, WMD Directorate, Biological Countermeasures Unit (BCU), in coordination with Wright State University (WSU), and Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), will be co-sponsoring New: Southwestern Ohio Biological Security Workshop (BioSec).

The BioSec will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2016.  The first half of the workshop runs approximately four (4) hours in length, 08:00AM-12:00PM. Attendees will receive briefs on the biological security threat, University and BioTech industry security concerns, local and regional response and laboratory capabilities. This will segue into the second half of the workshop running from 1:00 PM to 4:00PM. Attendees will participate in a series of Biosecurity focused table top exercises (TTXs). Attendees will be assigned to small breakout group to foster a more interactive discussion environment. Following these short TTXs, attendees will reconvene in the main meeting room and be able to engage with a selected Biosecurity panel to discuss TTX findings, outcomes and issues.

The Biosecurity Workshop is intended for the following audiences:

=B7         Undergraduate/Graduate/Doctoral Biology Research students;

=B7         Biology Department Faculty/Staff Researchers;
