All,

I am posting this for an colleague from the University of Sonora in Mexico:

Mar=C3=ADa Alfonsina Salazar is seeking a two month internship (May/June or June/July) in laboratory safety. She has her own funding to cover travel and other associated costs.

Maria is an experienced professional who has her bachelor degree in Administration (Business and Public) and is currently I =B4m enrolled in a Sustainable Development Postgraduate Program in the University of Sonora (Mexico). Maria has worked in the Ministry of Interior in the Federal Government of Mexico as a Civil Protection Supervisor, auditing buildings and offices of State Secretaries in all over the country including CFE (electricity facilities) and PEMEX working plants (fuels facilities), enforcing Mexican safety regulations. Because of her line of work, she has developed an interest in safety and believes that education is a key factor for a safer working environment.

Maria is currently completing a postgraduate project concerning the University of Sonora's laboratory accidents, including their causes, classification and occurrences. Maria has been unable to locate another university in Mexico completing a similar effort, and as a result is looking for a university in the United States that she might be able to compare to her own, and ultimately use the knowledge gained through the exchange to contribute to safety culture in Mexico's universities.

If there is anyone who might be interested in hosting Maria for such an internship, please contact Dra. Clara Rosal=C3=ADa =C3=81lvarez Ch=C3=A1vez (Rossy), professor at the University of Sonora, at pissa_unison**At_Symbol_Here**hotmail.com.
