One of the many useful things I learned at the San Francisco national meeting last week was that the National Academies has produced supporting materials for its report on Safe Science: Promoting a Culture of Safety in Academic Chemical Research (2014) available at
http://dels.nas.edu/Report/Safe-Science-Promoting-Culture/18706

These include short summaries of the Academy's recommendations for the safety culture roles of 5 key stakeholder groups:
- Principal Investigators and Department Chairs
- Laboratory Researchers
- University Senior Leaders
- Deans and Vice Presidents for Research
- Environmental Health and Safety Staff

DCHAS people may be interested in reviewing these and sharing them as appropriate for their campus.
