Subject: IH Manager position at Clemson University

Please pass on to anyone of interest. I am searching for an IH Manager to lead the IH/Lab Safety section for Research Safety at Clemson. This is a great opportunity to be part of a new organization at a beautiful campus in the warm, sunny, sports crazy south!

JOB PURPOSE:

The primary function of the Manager of Industrial Hygiene and Laboratory Safety is to provide leadership and expertise in the administration and maintenance of the industrial hygiene and lab safety programs for research operations on main campus and off site Clemson facilities. The Manager leads a team that provides programs and services which evaluate the degree of health hazard exposure risk associated with research operations. The Manager uses a variety of instruments and technical equipment to assess and monitor potential exposures and hazards in the research environment. The Manager recommends specific actions for the elimination or control of the identified hazards, (e.g. protective equipment, confinement systems, ventilation equipment, monitoring equipment, standard operating procedures, etc.)

The Manager will assist the Clemson research community in achieving compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, guidelines and best practices for the prevention of illness and disease from exposures to hazardous materials. S/he will develop, implement and manage customer driven policies, procedures and programs that promote a safe, responsible, healthful and compliant work environmental for all faculty, staff and students. S/he will provide service, technical support and compliance guidance to the University and act as a liaison with the University and external agencies.

The job posting and application instructions can be found on the Employment and Benefits web page at:
