Thanks everyone for your prompt replies. As is often the case it seems, fully understanding the question makes the answer much simpler to determine.
I now understand that I need a clean environment for materials that are in no way hazardous to the user; and BAM! the answer becomes clear.

From what I have seen, the Laminar Flow Hoods are one of the best on the market. Performing Lockout/Tagout audits, I see a lot of the bench top vertical models. Here is a link for your viewing.
