Hi All,
My personal opinion on eye washes is that I would never again buy a plumbed eye wash. There are now available self-contained units that last 15 minutes, they are sealed and sterile, they are always room temperature, easily relocatable, and they do not require periodic inspections other than to replace the sealed solution when it expires (the solution generally lasts 2 years now). They can be wall mounted and you can also have a couple on carts so that you can always bring a second one to the scene of the accident if needed. In my view they are everything you want in an eye wash and everything that a water plumbed eye wash is not (i.e. cold, bacteria contaminated, etc.). If you are using HF, Calgonate is reputed to be working on an HF version, but no word yet on when it will be available. (Don't forget, you do still need a plumbed shower.)
