Those of you in or near South East Michigan may be interested in taking a class in institutional health and safety offered at Wayne State this fall . If there is enough interest, the class may be developed into a graduate c ertificate program.  Please see the description below. - Bil l Watt

 

NEW COURSE AT WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY

OCCUPATIONAL AND E NVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCES

 

OEH 7150 HEALTH AND SAFETY FOR < st1:PlaceType w:st="on">HOSPITALS

AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS

 

This course is designed to address environmental, occupational healt h and safety in the healthcare industry and other institutions.  Institutions include: hospitals, nursi ng homes, assisted living facilities, medical offices, universities, school districts, municipalities, correctional facilities, veterinary clinics and government agencies.  Studen ts will learn to recognize, evaluate and control hazards in these unique wo rking environments; develop and implement procedures, programs to address t hese risks; and to achieve regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, JCAHO).  The following topics will be inclu ded in the coursework:
