Yes, anyone can become a better writer! Reading good writing helps, like the kind you find in the New Yorker or Wall Street Journal. Check out the National Academies for ex amples of reports that are well organized and written. One of my favorite b ooks is “On Writing Well,” by William Zinsser. The second chapt er, “Simplicity” has an example of mark up editing. Chapter 16 is “Writing on the Job.” Of course, Struck and White’s &# 8220;The Elements of Style” is within reach of my keyboard. One tip t hat works for me is to read a draft out loud.

In my field, our final product is a written report. Some employees struggle with report writing and never seem to improve.& nbsp; It's a frustrating loss of time and effort. Has anyone had succ ess at improving technical writing classes, seminars, or other alternatives ? Thanks for your suggestions.
