Subject: [DCHAS-L] Seeking peroxide-former label suggestions

In light of recent peroxide-former discussions, I was thinking of creating some peroxide-related labels to add to our eclectic collection of laboratory labels, http://www.safetyemporium.com/ILPI_Site/WebPagesUS/lab/labels.htm

I'm looking for suggestions/thoughts/comments.  At the moment I am thinking of three different styles, but feel free to suggest others:

1. A small attention-grabbing label that simply indicates the container contains a peroxide-former.   I wouldn't want to use the DOT symbol for organic peroxides because that could lead to inappropriate chemical segregation.   Does anyone have an idea for color scheme, icons, etc. for something like that?   It might just have the words "CAUTION: PEROXIDE FORMER" or something along those lines.   The shape can be just about anything, and the size would be in the 1" ballpark.

2. A comprehensive label with received, opened, tested, disposal dates.  Something along the lines of this:  http://www.marshall.edu/safety/chemical/Peroxiding-Form ing%20Chemical%20Label.doc  or http://www.ehs.berkeley.edu/pubs/guidelines/pecguidelines.html #samplelabel    Maybe in two sizes - 6" x 4" and 3" x 2"?

3. A simple label noting that it is a peroxide former with received, open, disposal dates, max ppm level, and spaces to list dates and test results.  Sort of like a fire extinguisher inspection tag in what it aims to accomplish.
