Subject: Research Safety videos

I shared a video on safe pyrophoric handling with the chair of our
Chemistry Department Safety Committee for his comments. He found the one
we looked at to be of some value, but found some different strengths in
others that are available on Youtube as well. The ones in question are:
Pyrophoric Liquid Safety Video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaMXwNBAbxc (UCLA)
Handling Pyrophoric Materials http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi_ODNJCbqY
 (Dartmouth)
Cannula Transfer of an Organolithium (HD - 2010)
http://www.vimeo.com/8031660 (Yale, part of a series of 4 on the topic)

Anyway, in the ensuing discussion, I asked him what other chemistry
research safety topics he thought could be usefully addressed by a
video. His suggestions were:
- Hydrogenation reactions (Hydrogen + Pd/C)
- Use of corrosive or toxic gasses
- High pressure reactions
- Use of liquid ammonia
- Generation and handling of diazomethane

If anyone has suggestions about where to find such videos, I would
appreciate any leads.

Thanks for any help with this.

- Ralph
