I've been talking with your Executive Committee this morning about this ver
y topic. I have not yet received the official final program from ACS yet.
I've asked my ACS contacts for their ETA but haven't heard back this morni
ng.

If the "official" final program won't be available for some period of time,
I'll pry (with a crowbar and some C4!) the information out of the database
and put together "CHAS-At-A-Glance" for the membership.

Here's a quick summary:

Our technical sessions begin Sunday afternoon, August 22, at 1:30 with the
Awards Symposium. "Ask Dr. Safety - about handling pyrophoric and water re
active materials" follows at 3:30. Monday, August 23, we have 2 symposia t
hrough the day - School Chemical Clean (SC3) Out program, and Hazards Analy
sis and Accident Investigation. Tuesday, August 24, we have Chemical Life
Cycle Management in the morning. There is a presidential event on Laborato
ry Safety on Tuesday afternoon so I didn't program opposite that event. We
ndesday morning, Aug 25, is Bob Hill's symposium on Chemistry in Preventing
and Combating Disease. All of our symposia will be in the convention cent
er.

Executive Committee meeting on Sunday morning, Social on Monday evening, Sc
i-Mix Monday night with a couple of posters from CHAS.

I'm presuming the presidential event on Tuesday will cover the UCLA inciden
t. I'm also certain that our "Ask Dr. Safety" session will cover UCLA.

Hope this helps,
Debbie

Can some one please provide details as to CHAS symposia in Boston? What wil
l occur when?

Also, I heard that ACS may hold a special session (not CHAS sponsored) rela
ted to the UCLA incident and its aftermath. Is that true? When will that be
held? All day? Morning or afternoon?

It is hard to make plans without this information, and I assume hotel rooms
 are filling.
