SAFETY IN HANDLING ORGANOLITHIUM COMPOUNDS IN LABORATORIES

PLEASE CROSS POST THIS ANNOUNCEMENT TO ANY APPLICABLE RESOURCE

The Division of Chemical Health and Safety of the American Chemical
Society has made available a peer-reviewed publication on the safe
handling of pyrophoric organolithium compounds on its website at http://membership.acs.org/c/chas/techarchive/organolithium_in_labs.pdf

The published paper discusses the proper methods for handling these
compounds. The manuscript is written by J.A. Schwindeman, C.J.
Wolterman and R.J. Letchford. It was published in the J. Chem. Health
& Safety in 2002 (doi:10.1016/S1074-9098(02)00295-2)

Technical questions regarding pyrophoric chemical handling can be
addressed to the CHAS list (dchas-l**At_Symbol_Here**list.uvm.edu) or directly to the
author of this announcement (neal**At_Symbol_Here**chemical-safety.com)
