ENVI RONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY PROFESSIONAL II

The Environmental Health and Safety Office (EHSO) is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Professional II to support the Laboratory and Research Safety Program.

Working as a member of the Research Safety Team t he tasks and responsibilities for this position are:

·         Work closely with research s taff and students, in the assessment of hazardous situations involving infe ctious agents and hazardous chemicals

·         Working with University depa rtments, develop and implement policies and procedures to minimize risks as sociated with working in the research environment.

·         Support the laboratory audit program.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors plus 3 years experience in safety, industr ial hygiene, and occupational health, other appropriate science-related fie ld of study (i.e. chemistry), environmental engineering, or public health.

Equivalent combination of experience, education and training is accepted.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Chemical safety
  • Experience with laboratory design and ventilation standards.
