> The A.R. Smith Department of Chemistry at Appalachian State University

> Position description:
> The stockroom and laboratory manager will supervise the daily 
> operation of the chemical stockroom. Duties will include procurement 
> of materials, inventory tracking, and preparation of samples, reagents 
> and solutions in support of the chemistry department's teaching 
> laboratories. This person will also be responsible for training and 
> supervision of student workers who will assist in operation of the 
> stockroom. In this position the manager will be subject to the 
> inherent hazards of working with numerous chemicals on a daily basis 
> and moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds) on a limited basis. In addition 
> to the above mentioned responsibilities, the successful candidate may 
> have a small teaching load. This is a 12 month position; the duties 
> will commence immediately (if feasible) or by January 1, 2009. The

> Qualifications for this position include: a Master's degree in 
> chemistry or a Bachelor's degree in chemistry with a minimum of 18

> facility. Training in laboratory safety (OSHA) and waste management
