Position Schedule: 9-5

Under the direction of the Manager of Industrial
Hygiene, provide support to the University's
environmental health & safety programs to ensure
safe work environment and compliance with
governmental regulations. Work under close
supervision of a senior industrial hygienist. Duties
include, but are not limited to, perform basic directed
safety evaluations and inspections of research,
teaching and maintenance facilities for compliance
with regulations and University policy; perform
employee exposure monitoring; assist in the
investigation of indoor air quality, mold and flood
complaints; conduct fume hood performance tests;
investigate employee injury reports to identify safety
issues; perform instrument and area monitor
calibrations; provide support to EHRS emergency
response team.

Qualifications
BS degree in science or related field with 1 to 3 years
experience or equivalent combination of education
and experience. excellent verbal, written and
interpersonal skills. Preference will be given to
applicants with experience in research labs and/or a
degree in environmental science/safety management.
a valid driver's license and the ability to wear personal
protective equipment such as negative and positive
pressure respirators and chemical protective clothing
