Update: Details on Nanotechnology Roundtable at EH&S Seminar November 1st
and 2nd - Boulder Colorado

 

Advance registration for the CSHEMA-PRIZIM Regional Environmental Health &
Safety (EH&S) Seminar at the University of Colorado at Boulder (CU-Boulder)
ends October 24th!  This seminar is designed for anyone with an interest in
campus and laboratory health and safety, risk management, or environmental
compliance.  People from educational institutions or laboratory-based
organizations - either small or large - will benefit from attending.  

 

Details on the Nanotechnology Roundtable Panel titled "Evolving
Nanotechnology Resources" are now final!  The panel will include discussion
with nanotechnology experts from CU Boulder, the National Institute of
Standards and Technology, and the Colorado Nanotechnology Alliance.  An
update on the development of EH&S Best Management Practices for work
involving nanomaterial led by National Institute of Occupational Safety and
Health (NIOSH) will be presented and a resource CD provided.  

 

Additional seminar topics include:

*        Ensuring emergency communications with key stakeholders;

*        Integrating security into management of hazardous materials;

*        Proper disposal of DEA controlled substances and pharmaceuticals;

*        Planning an engaging Fire Academy to raise awareness of students
and staff; and

*        Building blocks of biosafety management. 

 

Lunch is provided and a networking social open to all seminar participants
will be held immediately following the Nanotechnology Roundtable session.

The Regional EHS Seminars are provided through a partnership between the
Campus Safety Health & Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA) and
PRIZIM Inc.  

The goal of these events is to bring reasonably priced, yet timely and
valuable, EHS professional development opportunities to individuals from
campuses and other laboratory-based organizations. Professional development
credits are available.
