Organization: ADVANCED CHEMICAL SAFETY
Subject: Institutional Security
The Division is organizing a symposium centered on the methods
educational
institutions use to ensure the security of chemicals and biologicals in
their research and teaching labs, and elsewhere on the campus, including
in
medical facilities.

We want this session to be primarily based on actual experiences; that ,
YOU
tell your colleagues how you are addressing these issues.

The driving force behind this is the slow movement by the feds to
implementing a sweeping chemical security bill. The small piece of this
that went through on the Defense bill will not have a significant impact
on
educational institutions, but that will change, and now is the time to
start
to prepare.

This session will not feature any high-power experts who spend their
entire
career addressing security; it will feature you.

So, step up and make a presentation. You can start the process by going
to
the ACS OASYS site and submitting an abstract.

Make it happen! Thanks
