Burlington is routinely rated as one of the top cities to live in in national surveys, and although we're past peak foliage this year, I've learned to love the winters after 22 years here without skiing... ;) - Ralph Environmental Safety Coordinator Risk Management Coordinate, oversee, and implement University laboratory regulatory compliance program related to hazardous chemicals for Risk Management Department, with a focus on laboratory settings affected by OSHA and EPA regulations. Provide primary response to potential laboratory emergencies involving hazardous chemical and/or biological materials. Bachelor's degree in related science and three years experience in a scientific laboratory or medical research setting or related experience required, or an equivalent combination. Effective communication skills required. Valid Vermont driver's license or ability to obtain, and driver's check required. Ability to provide HAZMAT emergency response services and move frequently around campus required. Commitment to diversity and inclusion required. Significant expertise and experience with OSHA and EPA regulations and their application in laboratory settings highly desirable. Ability to obtain Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification desirable.
